APA Accredited Doctoral Internship
Western Youth Services offers a one-year, full time Doctoral Internship Program for interns seeking to build expertise in child and adolescent (community) psychology.
Intern at WYS and Gain Experience in Evidence-Based Practices
All interns will gain experience in one or more of the following evidence-based practices
Functional Family Therapy
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Seminars and other training experiences may also be available in the following evidence-based programs
Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Motivational Interviewing
Incredible Years
Seeking Safety
Application and Due Date
The WYS Doctoral Internship Program is a member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC). To apply, please complete the APPIC Application for Psychology Interns (AAPI) online.
Applications are due each year by November 1. With the exception of letters of recommendation, no materials will be reviewed late without prior permission and a clear rationale.
The AAPI Online application packet will include:
- Resume/Vitae
- Cover letter/letter of interest in our program
- Copy of all graduate transcripts
- 3 letters of recommendation
- Verification of Internship Eligibility and Readiness from your graduate program’s Director of Training
To have a complete application, you also will need to include one psychological testing report, preferably on a child or adolescent. Please remove all identifying information in the supplemental materials section of the AAPI online. Do not submit any application materials by mail.
