Understanding the Impact of Grief on Youth Mental Health

Grief is a natural response to loss, whether it be the death of a loved one, a significant life change, or the end of a relationship. For youth, navigating grief can be especially challenging as they grapple with complex emotions and developmental milestones. According to the National Alliance for Grieving Children, 1 in 5 children will experience the death of someone close to them by the age of 18. Grief can manifest in various ways, including sadness, anger, guilt, confusion, and even physical symptoms such as headaches or stomachaches.

Coping with Grief: Strategies for Support
